We have hosted school groups since our very first strawberry season, and this year will be no different - except that we have made some pretty drastic changes to our programs. Among those changes include a fall tour on a newly acquired piece of property less than 4 miles from our current farm.
Our spring tour has grown substantially to include not only strawberry picking, but an educational greenhouse activity that will allow the students to learn how plants grow, and give them an opportunity to plant seeds and a starter plant to carry home. They will also be allowed to paint their pots. The tour will include a hayride that will carry them to a beaver and duck pond, and also allow them to view active bee hives. Other fun activities are currently being planned.
The fall tour is currently in the planning process, but we hope to have a corn maze, a small petting zoo, hayrides, and pumpkins. Other fun activities will also be included. Check back later for full details.
We will strive to make these tours as educational, age specific, and as fun as possible. If you're interested in booking a school tour, please contact us for more information. We suggest booking spring dates for strawberry season as early as possible due to the timing and shortness of the season.
